Composed by Lee Dengler. The Lee Dengler Choral Series. Christmas, Sacred. Octavo. Published by Hope Publishing Company (HP.C5782).

Item Number: HP.C5782

Text by Susan Dengler. Scriptural Reference: Luke 2:14, Isaiah 6:3-4, Revelation 4:8.

This Christmas text combines the tender beauty of the nativity story with the age old grandeur of the Sanctus. The music weds the simplicity of the stable in Bethlehem to a deeply worshipful exaltation of the promised Savior. It builds in intensity through the final refrain, with an optional soprano descant which enhances its brilliance and then ends with an intimate, quiet final statement reflecting the awe felt by all who experience Christ's presence on earth.

The usages of this Advent anthem are plenteous. Perfect for combination choirs (for instance, youth and adults) as well as excellent youth choir (alone) music. The beautiful lines are superb teaching tools for developing phrasing and legato. Adolescent singers are quick to appreciate the simple beauty; melody, harmony, phrases of this anthem. Also available in SAB (C5906)
