This Lloyd Larson setting of Michael W. Smith's contemporary classic captures the tender and simple melodic interpretation found in the artist's own rendition, while at the same time creating a lush choral version to enhance the Christmas worship experience. It spans the spectrum dynamically while underscoring the overall theme that Emmanuel has been born. New for this year, we offer SAB and SSA settings.

This lovely anthem is useful as a Christmas offering or (with included alternate text) for general use. Beginning simply and purely, it broadens and grows to an emotional and dramatic climax. Skillfully, Larson brings it to a close as simply as it began. This will surely be a choir and audience favorite to be used annually in one setting or another. Suggestion: the beginning unison line could easily feature a bel canto child solo or even a skilled children's choir that could continue with soprano line throughout, only to return to the simple children's voice(s) at the end prior to the choir's subtle finish.
