The 19th-century text comes to life in this powerful anthem that contains a strong, clear challenge to the church today. Traditional harmonies with modern touches are accompanied by organ with optional brass and timpani. Beginning with a majestic unison, the piece features a descant on the last verse and ends with a ringing amen.

This anthem has a distinctively hymn-like style, beginning with a strong unison statement and building to a dramatic ending. This piece would be perfect for Unity Sunday or an ecumenical service. Full organ orchestration is included, but brass & percussion parts (featured in the recording) add so much as well. Although not listed for purchase on many music clearing house sites, the brass/percussion parts are available in either printed or digital format (BP2186A) from Beckenhorst and are highly recommended.
The Bottom Line
