What Child is This? receives a new treatment in this a cappella original that features optional djembe and body percussion. This arrangement is freshly set in 2/4 with accompanying rhythmic vocal ostinato patterns in the lower voices, and the original feel is preserved in the middle with a lyrical 6/8 section that transitions back to opening meter. Contemporary a cappella techniques meet a traditional carol, and the effect is mesmerizing!

 “O come, let us sing with joy to the Lord.  Come bow down before Him, kneel and adore Him and praise Him with music and song!”  The scripture based text is set to dynamic choral parts that feature exciting harmonies.  Whether performed with only the keyboard accompaniment or the addition of optional brass and percussion, it is delightfully energetic and praiseful.

In times of grief and sorrow, God’s love, peace, and mercy act to sustain us during our losses. This SATB anthem, based on an excerpt in Jeremiah, reflects that message through song.
